Zig-Zag quilt update

I've made some more progress on my zig-zag quilt. Its so much fun to do, that my hexagon quilt will have to wait...
There is currently a Zig-Zag QAL being hosted by Smazoochie.

Exciting new Kaffe Fassett prints coming soon

My heart actually skipped a beat when I caught a glimpse of these lovely new prints by my favourite designer Kaffe Fassett. It's going to be so hard to choose which prints to buy when they come out in September because they're all so gorgeous!

You can check out all his latest prints at the Westminster Fabrics Website:

Curio Quilt update

I've finished piecing the hexagons and did some planning for the layout for the Curio Merry Go Round quilt. I've started to assemble the quilt, its actually quite challenging. One needs to work very accurately to get the blocks to line up. I chose an eggshell moda marble for the background.

Distracted by zig zags

I couldn't resist playing with the zig zag pattern seen on Nifty Quilts and The Root Connection blogs. I had a lot of yellow triangles left over from the summer star quilt so I thought, why not put them to good use :) What fun! Might turn into a bold wall hanging...

Curio quilt progress

I've finished joining all the strips together, into sets of 3. And I've started cutting out the hexagon segments and joining them. Saturdays are definitely the most productive sewing days (especially if hubby lets you sew all day :) Thanks sweetie!)

Curio Merry Go Round Quilt project

I've started working on a new quilting project; no Kaffe Fassett fabric this time, but instead inspired by a quilt "My Fair Lady" by Brandon Mably from the book "Quilt Road" by Kaffe Fassett. I'm using a jelly roll and some yardage from a Moda line called Curio. Its my first time using a jelly roll. I love the colours and the pretty French prints. Here is picture of the original "My Fair Lady" quilt, my version is going to be slightly smaller and all the rings will be the same size.
